Today, brands of all kinds are using Green Marketing(other similar terms used are Environmental marketing and Ecological Marketing). This eco-business has emerged in response to environmental issues in recent decades, and appears as an essential practise for compagnies. Indeed, the manufacturers see it as a way to seduce consumers.

According to wikipedia, Green marketing is the marketing of products that are presumed to be environmentally safe. Thus green marketing incorporates a broad range of activities, including product modification, changes to the production process, packaging changes, as well as modifying advertising.

One challenge green marketers are likely to face as green products and messages become more common is confusion in the marketplace.
Marketers sometimes take advantage of this confusion, and purposely make false or exaggerated “green” claims. Critics refer to this practice as “green washing“.
